CAR GOES OVER BANK

DRIVER’S NECK BROKEN By Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, January 31. As a result of the car he was driving falling approximately 80 feet over a bank on the Parapara Road, George Carruthers, a married man, aged 35, a farmer of Tuahua, Te Awamutu, was killed on Saturday night. The accident occurred shortly after midnight. Carruthers was driving from his farm to join his wife and two children who had been holidaying with her parents at Makirikiri, near Wanganui When approaching Otoko Pa, about 28 milts from the city, Carruthers drove to the extreme outside edge of the road to allow another car to pass. Apparently he drove too far, and the car crashed over the bank, the driver suffering a broken neck.
