ST. ANDREWS
TERRITORIALS At the fortnightly parade of the St. Andrews Unit of D (S) Company, Ist Battalion Canterbury Regiment, the course on machine guns was continued. On the previous Saturday afternoon target practice was held on the beach. THE HARVEST Although recent heavy rains and winds have damaged crops in the St. Andrews district, the fine weather has allowed farmers to recommence harvesting operations and paddocks are now presenting a number of newly built stacks. It is anticipated that yields will be up to previous years. PERSONAL Miss Nancy Spence, Bluecliffs Road, is on a holiday visit to Auckland.
Miss Mary Coup, Esk Valley, has joined the nursing staff of the Timaru hospital.
