SYRIAN PROTESTS
ALEXANDRETTA SETTLEMENT OPPOSED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 29, 5.5 p.m.) DAMASCUS, January 28 All classes of the Syrian population participated in a demonstration against the Alexandretta settlement. Processions passed the Government offices all day, shouting nationalist slogans. The President of the Chamber of Deputies, when interviewed, said he considered that Mr Anthony Eden had surrendered a vital part of the country in order to buy Turkish friendship.
