TRAGEDY PREVENTED
GRAFTON BRIDGE AGAIN By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, January 29. A passer-by saved a middle-aged one-legged man from falling from the parapet of Grafton Bridge shortly after 7 o’clock to-night. The man had reached the centre of the bridge when he noticed a one-legged man with crutches falter and drop them. At the time the two men were about 12 yards apart, and there were not many people about. The one-legged man scrambled awkwardly to the top of the parapet, but his disability enabled him to be rescued when he was about to fall.
