A CENTENARIAN PASSES By Telegraph— Press Association DUNEDIN. December 21. George Taylor, a navy veteran, who lived under six sovereigns, died yesterday, aged 102 years. He joined the navy at the age of fourteen and served eight years in China waters. He came to New Zealand in 1879. and lived at Gore for the past forty years. MRS M. HAMILTON Bv Telegraph--Press Association INVERCARGILL, December 21. The death occurred on Sunday of Mrs Mary Hamilton, aged 91 years, for 72 years a resident of Southland, having arrived at Bluff in 1864. She was the mother of the Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, and also Mr J. R. Hamilton, former M.P. for Awarua.
