WORLD PEACE BALLOT

AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S PLAN At the International Peace Congress at Brussels Australian women delegates are well to the fore. They have not travelled 12,000 miles to pass a few pious and futile resolutions, but have concrete plans for a more peaceful

world. With the official sanction of the Federal Government they are seeking a peace ballot conducted throughout the civilised countries of the world. What a common-sense move this is to ascertain just where we are! Properly organised in all countries, it would show us the true attitude towards disarmament and world harmony. If the people plumped for war, then we could go on piling up armaments. But if they decided on peace we could revive the League of Nations.

The Australian women have a better idea than that, however. If the ballot is favourable they have plans for a people’s League of Nations to see that war is outlawed by the people themselves.
