PLEASANT POINT
ATHLETIC MEETING Fine weather prevailed for the evening meeting of the local Amateur Athletic Club, which was held at the Domain on Thursday. There were some very close finishes, particularly’ in the women’s events, where inches only separated the place getters. The cycle races were somewhat marred by a smash caused by one cyclist dodging a dog, when a bunch of riders were having a preliminary spin to warm up. The committee would do well to refuse to allow' dogs on the grounds. The officials ably controlled the various events, which were run off well to time. Results:— Half-mile Cycle—J. Lawlor 1, B.
