CROWN TENANTS

WASHDYKE ASSOCIATION At the monthly meeting of the Washdyke Branch of the Crown Tenants’ Association, Mr R. Sievwright presided. A letter regarding the Seaforth drain was read from the Levels County Council which stated that it had given no authority to its engineer to make any promises. It was unanimously decided to ask the Council to make publicly known its attitude to its engineer so that the confidence of other ratepayers may not be misplaced. It was also decided that, in fairness to the secretary the letter be drafted and approved in open meeting. It was decided to write to the actingCommissioner of Crown Lands with a view to obtaining the results of the revaluing of the Meadows Settlement. It was reported that the wicket gate on the east side of Darling’s road had been put in position by the Railway Department.
