PORT OF TIMARU

LATEST ADVICES The port was still enveloped In fog yesterday morning but at about noon the atmosphere cleared and, this enabled the berthing of the Narbada and the Port Hobart, which had been fcj bound in the roadstead overnight. The Narbada completed her discharge of wool packs and general cargo from Eastern ports and sailed at a late hour for Port Chalmers. The Port Hobart commenced loading frozen meat, wool and general cargo for the Homeland, and should sail on Saturday for Auckland. The Kaimai was berthed late last night from Oarnaru. The Gale should be here on Monday from Oarnaru for Wellington and Wanganui loading. The Holmglen is to load Wellington and New Plymouth cargo at Timaru on Tuesday. Tokyo Maru’s Maiden Voyage Cable advice received states that i'le Tokyo Maru left Moji (Japan) on her maiden voyage on schedule, and is due at Dunedin on October 8. Swedish Shipping Loans. Only one application was received by the Swedish Government for a loan from the State Shipping Fund, during the six months ended last December. This was from the Rederi A.B. Rex for a loan, which the Board of Trade . commended should be granted, amounting to 200,000kr towards ic purchase of the steamers Fryken and Fernebo. During the same period, Captain K Kruse, of Gothenburg, applied for a loan, but was requested by the board to send in a more detailed proposal.
