CORRESPONDENCE

TIMARUS STREET LIGHTING To the Bdltor 01 "The Timaru Herald" Sir,—The other night I was walking home in Wai-ltl Road in darkness. Then the street lights were switched on, but it wasn’t much better. I have come to the conclusion that some of the millions of pounds spent in hydro works should have been spent in increasing the number of gas tamps now discarded. Mind you, the flood-light in the station yards isn’t bad, but very few people live in that locality.—l am, etc., CANDLE LIGHT. Timaru, September 23.
