RADIO RECEPTION
PROBLEM JI MINIMISING INTERFERENCE British Official Wireless (Received September 3, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, September 2. During a visit oO the Radio Olympia the Postmaster-Genera] (Major G C. Tryon) paid particular attention to an exhibit illustrating the steps being taken for the suppression of radio interference. The problem of minimising interference with radio reception, caused by domestic and electrical appliances and equipment, the PostmasterGeneral said continued to engage the active attention of the Post Office. The importance of the problem was increasing owing to th*' extension of the use of electrical ppliances of all kinds, and during the past year the Office had investigated approximately 40.000 complaihts from listeners. In the large majority of cases measure of relief was effected.
