NO CONCESSION TO VIOLENCE

The Cabinet yesterday chiefly discussed the situation in Palestine. According to the political correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph,” the Cabinet decided to stand by Mr W. Ormsby-Gore’s declaration in June, insisting on the restoration of law and order before the Royal Commission begins its investigation. The Government, it is stated, is not committed to accepting Nuri Pashas mediation proposals, including the restriction of Jewish immigration on which the Government has arrived at no decision. Oh the contrary, the Government Is determined that no concession shall be madl to Arab violence. The political correspondent of “The Morning Post” says that martial law is regarded as a more probable development if the violence campaign persists. __
