THEFT ALLEGED
NEW ZEALANDER CHARGED IN SYDNEY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 28. 6.30 pun.) SYDNEY, August 28 William Wallace McLelland, a salesman, aged 52, was charged by warrant at the Central Police Court with having stolen, on May 8. at Cheviot, New Zealand, £450 in money, the property of John Graham Macpherson. “Macpherson knew I was coming to Australia to try to adjust matters, said McLelland. according to allegations made by Constable Miller. “I left the script for shares in Raddons, Ltd., Christchurch, valued at £lOOO at par, as security against the £450 I had collected from Macpherson. The money collected from Macpherson was for shares in Walder Shoes, Ltd., Melbourne.” Constable McKenzie, of Christchurch, in asking for an extradition order for the return of McLelland to New Zealand, stated: “The shares worth £lOOO at par might be worth £lOOO or they might be worth £5.” The Magistrate ordered the return of McLelland to Christchurch and that he be taken in custody of Constable McKenzie.
