WAIMATE
DAMAGES CLAIM NON-SUIT ENTERED In the Waimate Magistrate’s Court James William Armstrong was nonsuited in a claim against George C. Geddis for £5O as damages arising from a fire on plaintiff’s property on October last. In a reserved judgment, Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., stated that it was not proved from the evidence that the fire on defendant’s property was responsible for the fire in plaintiff’s plantation. Costs were allowed defendant, witnesses’ expenses £3/1/- and solicitor’s fee £3/3/-.
