MARKET FIRM IN SYDNEY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 16, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 16. At the wool sales to-day 8323 bales were offered and 5200 were sold, also 900 privately. There was good competition, chiefly from the Continental and Yorkshire sections. The market was firm at the previous day’s rates. Withdrawals were heavy owing to reserves. The Japanese again looked on without operating. Greasy merino realised to 21d per lb.
