The Timaru Borough Council office will be open till 9 p.m. on Friday for the purpose of receiving rate payments. In view of this the office will not be open on Saturday afternoon as previously advised. The retail section of the South Canterbury Employers’ Association announce that the retail shops in Timaru will close all day on Saturday, February 22, on account of the Friendly Societies’ annual picnic at Oamaru. H. Allchurch and Co. insert a special notice in the auction columns that owing to the heavy rush of fruit now being over, they are holding their daily auction sales at 10 a.m. in place of 9 a.m The new time starts from today H.
