SHIPPING

PORT OF TIMARU The Holmglen was held up at Dunedin by rain and did not reach Timaru to schedule yesterday. She is due today to load for Wellington and New Plymouth, and should sail this evening for Lyttelton. The Rata arrived from Bluff last evening, and after discharging coal loaded for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth before sailing for Lyttelton. The Federal Line motor ship, Dorset arrived from Dunedin about mid-day and was berthed at No. 1 .wharf. NOTES ■ The Waipiata is due from Dunedin to-day to lift Picton, Wellington and Auckland shipments. She is to sail for Lyttelton to-night. The Breeze is set down to call at Timaru from the south this evening. She is to load for Wellington and Wanganui before sailing via Lyttelton. The Storm is listed to reach this port from Dunedin on Friday, to load Wellington, Picton and Wanganui consignments. She is to depart that night for Lyttelton. The R.M.S. Rangitane which sailed from Wellington on January 16, is scheduled to reach London about February 19. Ruahine To-morrow The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Ruahine is to leave Dunedin to-night for Timaru, and should arrive here to-morrow to discharge London cargo. She will probably proceed to Lyttelton that night, and is due to leave New Zealand finally on March 7. Taranaki From Liverpool Cabled advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill Company that the motor ship Taranaki, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, cleared Balboa on the morning of February 22. Fordsdale’s Movements The Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer Fordsdale is at New Plymouth to commence Homeward loading. She will also load at Bluff, Port Chalmers, and Auckland. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on February 25, and to sail for London via Panama on February 28. Personal Captain N. MacKenzie has taken temporary command of the Koranui at Sydney, relieving Captain McDonald, who has come ashore for instructions. Captain D. M. Keith has been appointed acting master of the Ngatoro. Mr R. B. Steere has joined the Maori as second officer in place of Mr A. P. Cousin, for orders. Mr H. J. Kemp has joined the Poolta as second officer, relieving Mr Scholefield for instructions. Mr A. C. Crosbie has joined the Wainui as second officer, in place of Mr R. L. Leeder, for orders.
