PACIFIC AIRWAYS
COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY BY AMERICANS United Press Association —By Electric telegraph—Copyright HONOLULU, September 17. Dr. Dene Ceman has concluded a 4000 miles survey of the islands towards Samoa, and will await the arrival of Mr Harold Gatty, technical adviser to Pan-Pacific Airways, here on September 30. He did not disclose his conclusions, but said that he had left two men each on Howland. Baker and Jarvis Islands. An aerological survey party also visited Christmas Island. The overhaul of the yacht Kinkajou has been ordered, presumably for the return cruise, with Mr Gatty. Dr Ceman clafms that he is engaged in natural science research, but his close contact with the United States Department of Commerce and the Airways Bureau belies this.
