TEACHING STAFFS

REGULATIONS TOO RIGID By Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, September 18. A suggestion that the inflexible regulations governing the transfer of head teachers of primary schools, the attendance at which changes, should be relaxed for a period sufficient to allow the numbers to stabilise either abbve or below the set figure, was made by Mr W. H. Jones at to-day’s meeting of the Taranaki Education Board. The Board decided to express to the authorities its dissatisfaction with the position, arising from the regrading of schools and the consequent necessity of transfers. The Board is also to urge on the Minister the need for devising a method of staffing by which stability will be achieved.
