“ROUND THE CORNER”

IMPROVED TRADE IN THE ARGENTINE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 26. A definite improvement in economic conditions in Argentina is indicated in a report by the commercial Counsellor to the British Embassy, at Buenos Aires, submitted to the Department of Overseas Trade. The report says that 1934 marked the Republic’s emergence from the trough of the depression, in which it has been engulfed since the collapse of the world’s economic structure. The steady effort by both the Government and the people has at last begun to show positive results. 1

During the year to June 30, 1934, the United Kingdom exports to the Argentine increased by £1,500,000 over the figures for the corresponding period of 1932-33. It is hoped that there will be a further Increase in Argentine purchases from the United Kingdom in 1935.
