Messrs J. G. Twohill, C. Laffy (Dunedin) and R. H. Pierce (Christchurch) are registered at the Empire. At a special meeting of the Timaru Presbytery yesterday, a motion of sympathy was carried with Mr J. R. Bruce in the death of his wife. Guests at the Balmoral include: Messrs Edward Barry, J. Lamb, W. P. Crumb, P. Grigg, G. Robinson (Christchurch), T. Armstrong (Oamaru), L. S. Churchill and A. Stewart (Dunedin). Messrs H. B. A. Dowell (Oamaru), R. Cometti, J, W. Mclntosh (Dunedin), J. Patel Quen.--town > and P. R. Price (Invercargill) are staying at the Dominion. Recent arrivals at the Grosvenor include: Messrs R. G. Bradley, R. Rowseii, C W. Cochran, A. T. Donnelly, W. J. Sim, P. B. Sim (Christchurch), G. Kidd (Auckland). K. Mitchell (Dunedin). The award of the King’s Jubilee Medal to Messrs W. Thomas, B. E. H. Tripp and P. B. Foote, members of the Timaru Rotary Club, and to Mrs Margaret Norrie, mother of Mr J. A. Norrie, a member of the Club, was mentioned at yesterday’s meeting by the president <Mr F. I. Washbourn), who conveyed the congratulations of members to the recipients.
