SEVERE SCALDS
INVALID’S MISFORTUNE By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, May 7. Severe scalds to the chest and right arm were received by an invalid returned soldier, Archibald Malcolm MacKinlay, aged 50, married, when he fainted and fell into a bath of hot water. MacKinlay was later admitted to the Auckland hospital. His condition is serious. Lying across the bath in such a manner that his right shoulder and the right side of his chest were in hot water, MacKinlay was already severely scalded when found. The injured man, who was wearing only his pyjamas, had fallen directly beneath the jet of hot water coming from the tap.
