PUBLIC NOTICES TO THE RATEPAYERS OP LEVELS COUNTY AND PLEASANT POINT TOWN BOARD DISTRICT. at the request of numerous ratepayers in the above districts I am offering myself as a Candidate for a seat on the South Canterbury Hospital Board. My Policy would be to consider the requirements of the sick and needy in the whole of South Canterbury, and not those of one part at the expense of another. If elected I intend: (1) To support a reasonable building scheme. (2) To see 'hat the ratepayers are not overburdened with anything too elaborate. I am in favour of the proposed National Health Insurance Scheme, as it will lighten the present undue burden on country ratepayers. For the past twelve years I have served as a member, and have to the best of my ability, supported all proposals for the progressive development of our hospitals consistent with economy. If I am again favoured with your confidence, I shall use my utmost endeavour to safeguard the interests of the ratepayers, and at the same time ensure proper hospital facilities suitable to the needs of this important district. IN again submitting my name as a A Candidate Ido so for the following reasons:— The general practice among Power Boards is to lower the rates where density of population makes reticulation cheaper, and in this connection I, if elected, would fight for lower rates in Temuka and other similar boroughs. Again. Timaru elects three members, who have full voting power, but who are not affected by any rate which may be struck. Asking your support for a fair rate for all. J. C. SOUTH. NTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that * ' the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto have been duly nominated as candidates for the respective offices for the several elections under which their names appear in the said schedule and as the nominations in respect to each election exceed the vacancies to be filled as appears in the said Schedule, I hereby give notice that a poll of the Electors in the Seadown and Waimataitai Ridings will be taken as between the Candidates for Office for the Central District of the Tirnaru Harbour Board; a poll of the Electors of the Claremont and Otipua Ridings will be taken as between the Candidates for the Southern District on the Timaru Harbour Board; and a poll of the Electors of the whole County and the Electors of the Pleasant Point Town District will be taken as between the Candidates for Office on the South Canterbury Hospital Board, on WEDNESDAY, the Bth day of MAY, 1935.
