(2) Sound finance. (3) Adoption of measures necessary to ensure the health of the residents as far as the water supply is concerned. (4) To take immediate steps to remove the menace to health in any parts of the borough where facilities for the proper disposal of sewage are inadequate. (5) A more progressive bus policy to popularise this municipal service, a revision of the present timetable with a view to catering for all residents, and a revision of existing fares in order to attract more patronage. (6) An investigation into the municipal electricity policy with a view to the extension of industrial and commercial, .enterprise and for the purpose of protecting the consumers’ interests. (7) The early acquisition of a suitable site for an airport for Timaru. (8) The adoption of any reasonable projects which will tend towards the development and prosperity of our town. i. 9) The conduct of municipal affairs with due consideration of the needs of all residents in the borough.
