TRIBUTES TO MR H. P. LAWRY By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, May 2. Members of the Bench, legal profession and police met in the Magistrate’s Court to-d" ■ to bid farewell to Mr H. P. La wry. S.M., who is leaving on transfer to Wellington. Mr A. F. Wright, president of the Law Society, Inspector Cameron for the police, and Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., paid tributes to Mr Lawry’s patience, tact and ability in carrying out his duties as a Magistrate, particular mention being made of his able administration of the Destitute Persons Act.
