MYSTERY WRECKING

FIRE FOLLOWS EXPLOSION

A large country house, one of the finest in Parkes, was wrecked during the week-end by an explosion which scattered debris around the neighbourhood. A fire broke out immediately and swept through the building. Nearly all the houses were shaken and windows broken by the explosion. The owner, Mr L. Mazoudier and his family were away at the time. Detectives have been unable to determine the origin of the explosion which was heard throughout the district.
