VISIT TO IRELAND
TOUR OF PRIME MINISTER OF AUSTRALIA United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 21. Mr J. A. Lyons, Australian Prime Minister, and Mrs Lyons have arrived at Killamey. They were hailed by the hotel orchestra playing the “Soldiers Song.” The party motored 100 miles through mountainous country, which was ablaze with golden gorse, from Cork, where Mr Philip Monahan, city manager, received them on behalf of the Lord Mayor. They attended High Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and lunched with Monsignor Sexton, Dean of Cork. They visited Blarney Castle, where Mrs Lyons climbed the difficult sprial staircase and watched tourists kiss the Blarney stone, but neither Mr or Mrs Lyons emulated this gymnastic feat, which entails lying on one’s back and nearly dislocating one’s neck. The party thereafter skirted the romantic Bantry Bay and toured Kerry which is regarded as the jewel of Ireland, as Killamey is regarded the Jewel of Kerry.
