WOOL OUTLOOK
VIEWS OF YORKSHIRE EXPERTS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 21. The Bradford correspondent of the "Yorkshire Post” says that Easter sees almost all sections of the market at their strongest point in recent weeks. Spinners are keenly interested in the market for both average and warp types and are bidding about id under current quotations, but find topmakers are adopting a firm attitude in the expectation that Australian wool values will be fully maintained after the holidays. The Bradford correspondent of “The Yorkshire Observer” reports that the prices obtainable for fine tops are nearer wool replacement costs than for a while past. It is now generally realised there will not be too much merino wool available and buyers of all nations seem to feel that fine wools are unlikely to be cheaper, and, at present, are operating accordingly. Moreover it is believed that there will shortly be another substantial demand for scoured matchings in the merino types by Germany and Russia, which Bradford firms want to be in position to meet.
The position in the crossbred section is more difficult. More business could be done if top-makers were in a<. position to accept slightly lower prices.
