WOMAN PLAINTIFF’S PRAISE FOR JOB
Mr Justice Charles, at Chester Assizes, told a young woman plaintiff that his nose had been broken twice. The woman: It still looks very nice, my lord.
Mr Rowland Thomas, K.C., defending: What chance have I after that? Mr Justice Charles, turning to the woman: If you were not married, I would be suspicious.
Woman: It is never too late to mend, my lord. She was Mrs Eileen Trinetta Cooke, of Tetherdown Formby, who received a fracture of the nose and other injuries in a motor-car accident for which she claimed damages. She received judgment for £B4l and costs.
