NOTICE TO QUIT
SEA RESCUERS MUST LEAVE WATCH-TOWER United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 10. The Caister Company of Beachmen, who for more than 100 years have kept night and day vigil along the stormridden coast near Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk, have received notice to quit their look-out station on the foreshore. The land is needed for other purposes. When the company was formed it was limited to forty seafarers. The same number form this little community to-day—all qualified by "courage, good fellowship and local birth.” They pledge themselves to rescue shipwrecked sailors and salvage ships in distress. Whichever is on duty when a call comes sounds the bell in the tower to summon the others.
