Mr M. McCaw (Hakataramea) te staying at the Grand. Mr J. Buzan (Wellington) is a guest at the Dominion. Mr K. Campbell (Christchurch) find Mr R. S. Head (Wellington) are staying at the Empire. Guests at the Grosvenor include Messrs T. Clarkson, F. S. Dyer, R. White, N. Kingey, A. H. Glasgow and I. E. Sewill (Christchurch). Representatives of the South Canterbury Cricket Association tendered an official farewell yesterday to the Ven. Archdeacon Monaghan (vicepresident of the Association), who is leaving on a trip to England to-day. Mr A. E. Lawrence (president), in wishing the Archdeacon bon voyage, a thoroughly enjoyable trip and a return completely restored to health, tendered the Association’s thanks to Archdeacon Monaghan for the active and practical interest he had taken in cricket during his residence in Timaru. Mr W. Thomas (vice-president) joined in the good w’ishes and expressed a hope that the Archdeacon would enjoy his wellearned holiday and that he would return to South Canterbury and give cricket in the district the benefit of experiences gained in the Old Country. Mr F. S. Cave (honorary treasurer) and Mr M. J. Angland (honorary secretary) joined in the good wishes conveyed to the departing officer of the Association. In acknowledging the felicitations of the officials of the Association, Archdeacon Monaghan expressed appreciation of the good wishes extended to him on the eve of his departure, and although he had not been able to take as active an interest in cricket in South Canterbury as he would have liked to have done, he hoped when he returned to help in every way possible to further the interest of the game in the district.
