SWIMMING

WEST END CLUB The fortnightly meeting of the committee of the West End Swimming Club was held on Wednesday, Mr Ball presiding over the following—Messrs D. Elder, D. Stewart, G. Collins, E. Ramsay, J. Gillon, J. Drummond. Apologia for absence were received from Messrs T. Elder, L. Hunt and J. T. Dennison. After considering the points obtained in the aggregate, it was decided that, next season, points be awarded for attendance. The secretary was instructed to thank Mrs Akins and Mr McGregor for their offer to provide trophies for the senior championship events. It was decided to hold a social evening in April, and present the prizes won during the season. A motion to award a second prize in the South Canterbury diving championship event was defeated.
