MEETING OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS At the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Y.W.C.A. Mrs T. E. Holdgate presided Also present wei*e Mesdames D. McLennan, R. E. Ayres, M. Raymond. J. A. Nome, W. Garton, and Miss O. Hassell. Leave of absence for three months was granted Miss M. Wilson. The financial statement for the month was adopted. Stallholders were appointed for the delicatessen, white elephant, bath, and sweet stalls and afternoon tea at the forthcoming Chinese Fair. The secretary reported that the Mothers’ Club was working for a stall, and the Service Committee had organised a social afternoon for the bath stall, and the House Committee was organising a function in aid of the delicatessen stall. Miss Nessie Moncrieff, M.A., of Peking, China, would open the Fair. Final arrangements for the Garden Party to be held at “Orielton,” Gleniti, were made. It was agreed to hold a putting competition, Aunt Sally, croquet competition, a lucky dip, and ice cream, cake, apron, towel and sweet stalls, and to have a band in attendance to play during the afternoon. The House Committee reported a successful month in the Hostel, an average of 16 persons being accommodated. The secretary reported that the Girl Citizens were holding their openingnight on the following Tuesday and the Round Table Club was having a World Fellowship dinner on March 27 at which the Rev. L. Williams would be the speaker. It was hoped to hold an Easter Camp in Geraldine. Arrangements were made for a jumble sale in April.
