The Cambridge coxwain will operate in the Oxford-Cambridge eight oar race, two electric bells, more powerful than the one used last year, the sound of which was drowned by the cheering crowds and aeroplane engines. The bells, placed under the seats, will convey code messages to the oarsmen.
