THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist General Situation.—Pressure is high to the east Of New Zealand, while a depression is centred between Cape Maria van Diemen and Norfolk Island. Winds.— Easterly to northerly, strong north of Kawhia and Napier, and freshening in the southern part of the South Island, otherwise light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough north of Kowhia and East Cape, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea. —Moderate to strong east to north winds and moderate to rather rough seas. Weather—Further rain probable in Auckland province with some heavy falls extending gradually southwards, especially to the eastern districts of the North Island, elsewhere fair to cloudy; later rain developing also in the western and southern portions of the South Island; temperatures warm. Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind.—Moderate to fresh north-east to south-east. Weather.—Becoming unsettled; some rain shortly. Outlook for week ending March 18.— Wind mainly easterly to southerly; weather more or less unsettled during the period with a fair rainfall.
