TERRORIST WAVE IN BENGAL

Two youths armed with revolvers and daggers boarded a train, as it was leaving Faridpur station in Eastern Bengal last night. They terrified the postal staff and decamped with the postal bags. The value of the loot is unknown. An ex-convict named Venkanna, ran amok with a knife and terrorised the village of Tadepalligudem in West Godavori district.
In Madras, eight persons were injured and four fatally. The first outrage occurred last Sunday, Venkanna stabbing three persons including the village magistrate. On Tuesday he reappeared Injuring two more men. He attacked a girl decapitating her with one blow of his huge knife. Subsequently he slashed off half the face of another man, and disappeared into the jungle. The villagers are panicstricken and are afraid to venture out after dark. A large force of police combed the district unsuccessfully last night. Venkanna suddenly entered the village and attacked a man who tackled him. Venkanna leaped a wall and fell into a well where he was drowned.
