ST. ANDREWS

ENJOYABLE CONCERT A most enjoyable concert organised by the Esk Valley ladies of the Anglican Guild in aid of the church funds was held in the Esk Valley School on Thursday evening. There was a very large attendance. The following programme arranged by Miss A. Begg, of Timaru, was presented: Pianoforte solo, Miss Hazel Gordon; song, Mr Colin Campbell; song, Mrs Waters; song, Mr Ellis; costume song, Misses Duncan and McFarlane; song, Mr Colin Campbell; conjuring, Mr Moffatt; song, Mrs Waters; recitation, Miss McMahan; song, Mr Ellis; song, Miss Begg. The concert was followed by supper, and a dance. Music for the dance was supplied by Miss H. Gordon and Mr W. L. Gordon was M.C. At the conclusion of the concert the Rev. J. Hay and Mr J. H. Stowell briefly thanked the performers and the helpers who had made the entertainment a success. The concert was to have been held a month ago, but owing to floods it had had to be postponed.
