Mclennan cup By Telegraph—Press Association NAPIER, November 17. Conditions were ideal for the McLennan Cup competition, played upon the Wairere Club's green yesterday afternoon. An extremely fast rink was provided, and this, with the attendant brilliant sunshine, and an absence of wind, gave the contending pairs, A. Sinclair, and W. Forsyth (Wairere, holders) and H. Warden Johnston and H. Newton (Bluff Hill, challengers) every opportunity to demonstrate -heir ability. The contest was watched by quite a number of spectators.

Wairere opened strongly, and at the 11th head totalled 14, with the challengers showing 4 on. At the completion of the 15th head, Waireie showed 19 on the board, Bluff Hill meanwhile chalking up 7. The concluding stages saw the challengers more forward, reserving their best efforts to the last head, when Newton obtained a welcome 8, making the final figures:— Wairere is Bluf Hill 18 * F. K. Pirie and S. Bendall (Napier) are the next challenger*.
