The only development of interest m the grain and produce market is a shipment from Bluff by S.S. Norfolk next week of 15.000 sacks of oats to the United Kingdom. This is the first shipment for some time, but it is understood that the price is substantially lower than that secured when export was in progress some months ago. The figure is stated to be aboV. 2/4 f.o.b. s.i. The shipment, however, will be of value in helping to clear stocks. It comprised A Gartons. Fowl wheat is a shade firmer, the quotation being 3/82; f.o.b. s.i. Small consignments of potatoes are going north for byports. Quotations are nominal and range about 50/- f.o.b. s.i. The grass seed market is dull and merchants have to lower prices to

make sales. It is yet too early to estimate prospects of the new crop of seeds, but except in the case of ryegrass they will arrive in a bare market. Ryegrass is quoted at 3/- a bushel on trucks and cocksfoot at 7d per lb. DUNEDIN By Telegraph —Press Association DUNEDIN, November 16. The interest in the wheat market is now generally directed to prospects for coming season’s harvest. There is a better tone in the t- wheat market but no quotable change in prices. Prices range from 3/9 to 4/- a bushel ex store sacks extra according to quality. The oat market continues very weak and there is a tendency for prices to ease. Quotations are 2/6 f.o.b. s.i. for A Gartons and 2/3 for B’s. Values to farmers are 1/9 to 1/6 respectively on trucks country sidings sacks extra. The chaff market is unchanged. The demand is confined to small lots. For truck loads the quotation is £3/15/- a ton sacks extra and for small lots ex the store £4/5/- sacks extra. The prices for potatoes have advanced to £3/10/- and £4 a ton ex store. There is nothing fresh to report :n the seed markets. Business is quiet and merchants are marking time. Prices for most varieties continue firm. MINING NEWS By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, November 16.
