EMBROIDERED BED LINEN
In purchasing bed linen it is never desirable to buy the cheaper quantities. By paying a little more for sheets and pillow cases you are assured of a lot more in both service and appearance. The vogue of coloured sheets never developed to any substantial extent, and now there is every indication that embroidered sheets will entirely displace them. Every woman loves a well stocked and elegant linen chest, and most will appreciate the added elegance which can be achieved by hand embroidering sheets. Embroidery should be confined to the top edges, and should never be too extensive or carried out in coarse threads. Since transfers for sheets would be large and costly, it is desirable to create your own designs—and more fun as well. A scalloped or zig-zag design right across the sheet about six inches from the top hem, and surmounted in the centre with a monogram, is a safe design and adds a touch of elegance.
