WEDDING

BAIN—MONTEITH A pretty wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Point, when Violet, only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Joseph Monteith, Creduff, County Tyrone, Ireland, was married to Walter Oliver, son of Mr Walter Bain, Tycho. The Rev. W. McNeur performed the marriage ceremony, and Miss Olive Halstead presided at the organ. The church was prettily decorated with spring flowers by girl friends of the bride, who was given away by her brother. Mr Tom Monteith. She wore a becoming frock of leaf brown georgette with godettes of lace let in the skirt from the knees. The cowlnecked bodice was finished with a diamente clip and her wide tagel straw hat was trimmed with a spray of multicoloured flowers. She carried a bouquet of freesias and primroses. Miss Mary Monteith, cousin of the bride, was the only bridesmaid, and Mr Herbert Pelvin acted as best man. Miss Monteith’s frock was of floral georgette in brown tonings. and her wide hat was of beige straw. Her bouquet was composed of Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal pair were piped by Piper J. Munro to the Town Hall, where the guests were received by Mrs W. Bain and Miss Isobel Monteith. the bride’s cousin. Mrs Bain wore a tailored frock of blue tweed with blue straw hat. and she carried a posy of flowers to tone. Miss Monteith wore a floral georgette patterned in blue, green and beige, and a beige straw hat. Her bouquet was composed of grape hyacinths and freesias. Tulips, hyacinths and Iceland poppies decorated the hall and tea-tables. When the bride and bridegroom left for the north on their honeymoon, the bride wore a navy diagonal cloth coat and skirt, with honey coloured crepe de chene blouse and a blue bankok straw hat with spray of shaded flowers. Mr and Mrs Oliver Bain's home will be in Pleasant Point.
