p^or A W. Grundy, of the Church pf Christ, Point Chevalier, has been invited to the pastorate at Hokitika.
Mr Bernard Tripp left for Wellington yesterday to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Wool Committee. He will return on Saturday. Messrs J. C. Wilson. L. E. McCausland (Christchurch), N. Ford, J. A. Paterson, G. Lanham (Dunedin) and A. W. Taylor (Wellington) are staying at the Empire. The Rev. Canon F. H. Petrie, vicar of Feilding, has been appointed Archdeacon of Rangitikei in succession to the Ven. Archdeacon Innes-Jones. who recently retired.
Messrs W.. E. Waterhouse, A. J. W. Vickery (Wellington), G. Wallace (New York). S. Catto (Oamaru), R. King (Christchurch) and B. A. Murphy (Auckland) are registered at the Grosvenor.
Mr G. A. Booth, A.R.San.I., who for the last nine years has been in the employ of the Timaru Borough Council, has been appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr W. G. Gough from the position of sanitary and borough inspector to the Petone Borough Council. Though Mr Gough does not retire until February, Mr Booth will commence his duties in December.
