THIEVES PROSECUTED

CLAIMS BY HOUSEHOLDERS. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 30. Mervyn John Cudby and Arthur Cudby two housebreakers, convicted in the Supreme Court last week, were with the former’s wife, the sublet of civil proceedings in the MagisTrate”s Court to-day, when they were sued by Thomas Retallick Richards and by Arthur Edmondson, both of whom claimed £27 which they alleged was stolen by the male defendants from each of their houses. After Mr J. Miller, S.M., had remarked that ho would like time to consider a legal point, it was announced that other victims of burglaries were taking steps to recover money stolen from their houses. Two of them, George Campbell Clarke and Walter George Rose had given their evidence when the Court lose.
