THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist. General Situation.—Yesterday’s depression is passing away eastwards and an anti-cyclone of moderate intensity is moving on to the Dominion. Winds.—Moderate southerlies prevailing at first but a change to northerlies advancing from the south to beyond Cook Strait during to-morrow. Seas (New Zealand Waters)—Smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Winds tending northerly and freshening in the southern portion, seas smooth to moderate. Weather.-—Some passing showers at first on the East Coast and in the far north of the North Island, but mainly fair to fine generally, cool temperatures, light frosts inland to-night, becoming milder to-morrow. Mr F. L. IVooles. Wind.—Moderate east to north-east. Weather.—Fair. Conditions in Timaru. Fine weather was experienced in Timaru yesterday, conditions in the afternoon being warm. In the early evening rain threatened from the south,, but up to a late hour the weather remained unbroken.
