Ej Telegraph —Press Association

GISBORNE, October 26.

Following on the failure of the wool levy scheme, Professor Peren announced to-day that Massey College, at the request of certain New Zealand breeders, has decided to test farmers’ flocks for hairiness at a small fee to cover the actual costs. Six locks will be collected from selected positions on each sheep, and minute reports will be made on them for hairiness and other defects. The card index system will be employed for easy reference in ; the

event of the sale of any animal. This is an attempt to meet the demands that purchasers shall know exactly what they r.re buying.
