Y.M.C.A. CARD PARTY
A most successful Bridge and 500 evening was held on Tuesday in the Y.M.C.A. Club Rooms, when a large number of parents and friends were present. This function was organised by the Ladies’ Auxiliary and Parents’ Committee of the Association, in order to assist the funds of the Boys’ Work Department. Mrs M. H. Solomon (president) and Mrs A. E. Lawrence (vice-president) acted as hostesses. The winners of the prizes were: Bridge. Mrs J. G. Johnston; consolation. Mr D. Milliken; five hundred, Mrs J. Drummond; consolation, Mrs W. Arras.
After supper, the general secretary (Mr F. E. S. Long) thanked the Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Parents’ Committee for arranging the evening, The Westport Coal Co., Mr W. Carlton, Mesdames Solomon, Newlands and Walker, who donated prizes, the hostesses, and those present for their support.
