DOMINION FEDERATION. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 26. Resolutions on a variety of subjects were passed at the final session of the annual conference of the Dominion Federation of Women's Institutes. The tafilot for the executive committee, which remains in office for two years, resulted: Mrs J. F. Ayson (Warepa, Otago), Mrs C. Bibby (Waipawa), Mrs S. C. Ohisnall (Woodbury), Mrs W. Deans (“Sandown,” Darfield), Miss M. Grant (Palmerston North), Mrs Horn (Taradale), Miss A. Kane (Wellington), Mrs Guyon McDonald (Orari), Mrs A. McCorkindale (Feilding), Miss Jerome Spencer (Rissington), and Mrs Cyril Williams (Elsthorpe). thorpe), Miss M. Maddever (Wellington). During the day the Governor-Gene-ral, and Lady Bledisloe visited the exhibition of handicraft staged by the North Wellington Federation. ST. ANDREWS. The president, Mrs W. E. Mills, presided at the July meeting of the St. Andrews Women’s Institute. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mr R. Cartwright in his bereavement. Letters from the Institute for the Blind and the Disabled Soldiers’ Association appealing for help in the sale of their work were read. Two members offered to take charge of the goods. Three new members were elected. Mrs J. Bockaert gave a demonstration of home spinning, and was accorded a vote of thanks. A motion congratulating Mrs J. F. Johnson on the arrival of twins was passed. Arden 1. Mrs C. H. S. Johnston 2. Vase of flowers. Mrs H. Wimsett 1, Mrs C. Johnston 2. The hostesses were Mesdames O’Neill, Midgley, Mellwrick and Wilkes. WILLOWBRIDGE. At the monthly meeting of the Willowbridge Women’s Institute, Mrs Curtis presided. After the business was dealt with Mesdames Young and Henshaw, of Studholme, gave a demonstration of papier mache, which was enjoyed by all. A competition, biting an animal out of a biscuit was won by Mrs J. Forsyth. Competitions for the month resulted: Nut loaf, Miss Richmond 1, Miss P. Lindsay 2, Miss E. Curtis 3. Knitted article for the Plunket nurse, Mrs J. Forsyth 1, Miss P. Lindsay 2. Miss A. Faulkner 3. Best Bloom. Mrs Forsyth 1, Miss R. Lindsay 2. Hand embroidered organdie throwover, Miss E. Curtis 1. Mrs J. Forsyth 2, Miss P. Lindsay 3. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Faulkner, Colville and Claridge and Miss Curtis.
