THE RABBIT PEST

MENACE TO PASTORALISTS. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 25. The menace of the rabbit pest to the sheep industry was mentioned in a question addressed to the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. C. E. MacMillan) by Mr T. D. Burnett (C., Temuka) in the House of Representatives to-day. The Minister was asked whether he would consider:

(1) Better equalisation of the price for rabbit skins, spread over the whole year.

(2) Getting the experts of the Department of Agriculture and those of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to investigate the question of new poisoning methods and to confer with Australian authorities on the same subject.
