SCHOOLS* COMPETITION. Owing to the schools’ 7 a-side tournament being held on Saturday, there will be no games in the schools’ competition this week. Last week’s games resulted as follows: Senior.—South 0. West 0; Waimataitai 9, Main 0; Marist 23, Temuka 0. Junior.—Waimataitai 9. South 0; Main 3, West 0; Marist 6, High 3. MACKENZIE SUB-UNION. The third -round of the Mackenzie Sub-Union's competit* n was commenced on Saturday. In the junior grade, Aorangi beat Southern and Fairlie beat Sherwood by 6 points to nil. In the senior grade Fairlie beat Pirates by 13 points to 0 after an interesting game. 80.-i teams were not up to full strength. Fairlie led at the interval by 5-0. and in the second half put on a further 8 points. T. Creighton scored three tricj, A Crampton and Joe Keenan each converting one. Mr J. S. Roberts was referee. Aorangi had little difficulty in beating Southern by 28 points to 3. Trotter (5), Cook. Allan and Sims scored for the winners, Sims converting two, while Campbell scored for the losers.
