BASKETBALL CLUB TRANSPORT OF PLAYERS The fortnightly meeting of the Geraldine Basketball Club was held on Tuesday night. It was decided to write to the Temuka Sub-Association drawing attention to the fact that the Geraldine Junior No. 1 team had been drawn to travel on five successive occasions. The treasurer reported that the credit balance of the club had dropped to £l/4/8. The transport of girls selected to play in the trial matches for representative honours was discussed. It was decided that the matter would have to be left for the girls themselves to arrange, unless offers of transport were forthcoming. The following are the teams for tomorrow:— Senior B v. The Pleasant Valley Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club will hold their annual old time dance to-night. The annual ball conducted by the Geraldine Hockey Clubs will be held in the Town' Hall to-morrow night. The Geraldine Volunteer Fire Brigade book Thursday, August 16, for their annual ball.
Mr E. Cholerton, Optical Specialist, proprietor of John R. Procter, Ltd., the Premier Opticians, Christchurch, will be making his next professional visit to Temuka, and may be consulted on all defects of the eyesight at the Crown Hotel on Saturday, 7th July.
